Andrew Sandlin: "That consensus began to dissolve with the 18th century European Enlightenment, which set reason above revelation as the arbiter of truth."
Yes, indeed!
Which is the foundation of the biblically seditious Constitution that, once adopted, (eventually) accelerated the loss of biblical consensus and, therefore, biblical dominion. This being especially true with so many Christians and patriots having been duped into becoming the Constitution's greatest defenders and promoters:
"[B]ecause they have ... trespassed against my law ... they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind...." (Hosea 8:1, 7)
Today's America is reaping the inevitable ever-intensifying whirlwind resulting from the wind sown by the constitutional framers and fanned by today's hoodwinked Christians and patriots who have been bamboozled into believing today's whirlwind can be dissipated by appealing to the wind responsible for spawning the whirlwind.
For evidence that the Constitution is biblically seditious, see free online book "Bible Law vs. the United States Constitution: The Christian Perspective," in which every Article and Amendment is *examined* by the Bible, at Bible versus Constitution dot org. Then find out how much you really know about the Constitution as compared to the Bible. Take our 10-question Constitution Survey also in the sidebar and receive a free copy of the 85-page "Primer" of "BL vs. USC."
The founders didn't use enlightenment theories to construct the Constitution. They prayed to Almighty God, starting the unbroken tradition of opening all house/senate sessions with prayer that is still practiced today, and based our Constitution on Biblical, Godly principles. READ OUR DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, signed by many of the same men. Our Constitution was based on the Declaration. God was King. His laws were above man's laws.
So of course CHRISTIANS WHO KNOW HISTORY would be loyal to the very men who sacrificed all, including their lives, for the benefit of future Americans. Because they sure as hell never experienced the benefits of their sacrifices and accomplishments. But Millions Unborn certainly did.
YOUR solution completely ignores what the Founder's acknowledged. That God gave men FREE WILL, and that men had to be FREE TO CHOOSE GOD WITHOUT ANY GOVT. COERCION.
As Jefferson so Biblically stated: And form of coercion would be a departure from the plan of the Holy Author of our religion.
And you would end up with just another form of tyranny, no different than sharia or England forcing a national denomination on the country.
YOUR "solution" is the Biblically seditious one, ted. Sorry. It's true.
There is no reason to trash the Constitution. Other than to demand the federal govt. have to balance their budget every year just like the states have to, and to put a few term limit amendments in there, why on earth would you want to trash the most successful, Biblical and longest living UNCHANGED Constitution in the history of mankind? I don't trust your motives here.
Your actions remind me of the 5th column: Those that seek to destroy the country by destroying our true history and our faith in American institutions.
"It is natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope. I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it... I know of no way of judging the future but by the past..." — Patrick Henry, American Revolutionary War Hero.
"That consensus began to dissolve with the 18th century European Enlightenment, which set reason above revelation as the arbiter of truth."
Yes taliban ted, that happened in EUROPE, not here in America, and certainly not by the Founders of our Biblically based Declaration and Constitution.
Our Founders were not followers of Robespierre, Rousseau, or Voltaire. They were followers of Christ.
They prayed to the Almighty God of the Bible for guidance and favor in writing the Declaration of Independence, fighting the Revolution, and at the Constitutional Convention during the creation of our Constitution.
Our "whirlwind" of Godlessness today is NOT due to the Constitution, but due to MOVING AWAY from our foundational Constitutional principles. The framers are not responsible for that. God gave man FREE WILL. Mankind has to be FREE TO CHOSE GOD without any govt. coercion, or all you have is another form of sharia.
Subsequent generations that allowed the Bible to be taken out of our schools especially, and out of society, are responsible for that. WE ARE responsible for that. YOU are as well ted.
YOUR seditious and ungrateful, false statements are pure evil. And SO ungrateful.
NEVER FORGET THE WARS YOUR FATHERS FOUGHT.
UNLIKE YOU, ted, our founders selflessly sacrificed ALL for "millions unborn." Fought an impossible, horrific war for which THEY paid the price, so that WE could reap the rewards.
It took an unshakable faith in God to even think about embarking on those endeavors, let alone survive them and then create the most successful, radically Biblical, and longest living unchanged Constitution in the history of mankind.
No we should not replace the Constitution. Make a few changes such as requiring the Federal govt. to have to balance their budget each year like the states always had to. Put some restraints on spending, borrowing, institute term limits and eliminate lobbying for at least 10 years after leaving office. But the rest is Godly. And wildly successful.
So how bout you stop lying and start showing some gratitude for the Founders that died and sacrificed for you. Without them, America would never have existed, and the entire world would have been a much darker, oppressive place.
They deserve the same gratitude and respect as any of our veterans, and some acknowledgement of the phenomenal achievement of creating the foundation for the most successful, prosperous, powerful and FREE nation to ever exist.
God Bless our founding fathers. They have my undying gratitude for all they sacrificed and toiled for, for OUR sake.
Don't you think they deserve YOUR gratitude as well?
